Vascular surgeons specialize in treating a wide range of conditions affecting the arteries and veins, such as varicose veins, peripheral artery disease (PAD), aneurysms, deep vein thrombosis (DVT), and carotid artery disease.
During your initial consultation, your vascular surgeon will review your medical history, discuss your symptoms, perform a physical examination, and may order diagnostic tests like ultrasounds or CT scans to better understand your condition.
Many treatments for vascular conditions are covered by insurance. It’s best to check with your provider to confirm coverage details for specific procedures or consultations.
Recovery time depends on the specific procedure performed. Generally, patients can expect some downtime, but many minimally invasive treatments offer quicker recovery times, while more complex surgeries may require several weeks for full recovery. Your surgeon will provide detailed instructions for post-surgery care.
