Frequently asked questions

What conditions do vascular surgeons treat?

How do I know if I need to see a vascular surgeon?
If you experience symptoms like leg pain, swelling, or ulcers, or have been diagnosed with conditions such as varicose veins or arterial blockages, it may be time to consult a vascular surgeon. A consultation can help assess your condition and recommend appropriate treatments.
What should I expect during my first consultation with a vascular surgeon?
During your initial consultation, your vascular surgeon will review your medical history, discuss your symptoms, perform a physical examination, and may order diagnostic tests like ultrasounds or CT scans to better understand your condition.
Are treatments for vascular conditions covered by insurance?
Many treatments for vascular conditions are covered by insurance. It’s best to check with your provider to confirm coverage details for specific procedures or consultations.
What is the recovery time after vascular surgery?
Recovery time depends on the specific procedure performed. Generally, patients can expect some downtime, but many minimally invasive treatments offer quicker recovery times, while more complex surgeries may require several weeks for full recovery. Your surgeon will provide detailed instructions for post-surgery care.
