Dr. Desai received his Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics and Economics from the University of Houston. He began his medical studies at Midwestern University in Arizona, earning his Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine. He then completed an internship and residency in General Surgery at the University of Texas Medical School in Houston, located within the world-renowned Texas Medical Center. Following this, he completed a fellowship in Vascular and Endovascular Surgery at the esteemed University of South Carolina School of Medicine in Greenville, South Carolina.
Dr. Desai has participated in extensive research and has been invited to speak at various medical symposia and conferences. Additionally, he is an active member of the American Medical Association, the American College of Surgeons, the Society for Vascular Surgery, the Southern Association for Vascular Surgery, and the Vascular and Endovascular Surgery Society.

Dr. Desai is recognized for utilizing cutting-edge technology and minimally invasive procedures to achieve optimal outcomes for his patients and their families. He has a special interest in open and endovascular treatments for aortic disease, advanced vascular interventions for peripheral arterial disease, as well as limb salvage and the management of complex dialysis access. He states, “A vascular surgeon steps in at a critical time in a patient’s life to treat complex medical conditions, but they must also help patients choose the best option in an informed manner.” Dr. Desai treats each patient as he would his own family, adhering to conservative principles and offering surgery only when necessary.
Dr. Desai was the first vascular surgeon in Cypress to offer TCAR (TransCarotid Artery Revascularization), a breakthrough technology for treating carotid stenosis and preventing strokes. He currently serves as the Medical Director of Vascular Surgery at HCA North Cypress Hospital.
